Oasis FRSH
Fake buzz for real advertising campaign! Even if the notoriety of the fruits is no longer in doubt, the impact following a new TV copy is often quite low. So how can we ensure its virality even before its first broadcast? 48 hours before its release, Oasis announces on its Twitter account “[D-2] Just a little more patience, in 48 hours our clip will arrive to break everything”. Except that an Internet user, surely inspired by the wave of cyber attacks that hit the web in the previous days, decided to perpetrate blackmail against the brand. The brave @RebeuDeter asked for “100 apple-pear oasis cans” so as not to “leak [the] clip now”. A threat which was, obviously, not taken seriously by Oasis. As a result, the hacker carried out his blackmail, and shared the clip in question, all enhanced with a play on words worthy of the brand. Result: 3 million views even before the clip was released!
